Global warming is accepted science at this point, but efforts to directly affect consumer behaviors to address the issue have lagged behind research. This presentation proposes a new currency called the Carbon Credit (CC) that can only be earned by volunteer effort to local green projects (help to install solar panels on a school or church, build a community tool shed, etc.)
ZERO would be both a designer brand of sustainable consumer products and a government agency that would administer the CC exchange and credit system, along with consumer energy education. ZERO products would only be available for purchase with CC and never direct money currency, creating a consumer brand allure to visualize activism and community engagement. Nothing like shopping and label appeal to motivate Americans!
