Taft Museum Renovation Timeline Mural

07 Feb 2006 / in

This informational mural showcasing the detailed renovation and history of the Taft Museum of Art in Cincinnati was installed near an entrance stairwell to provide an initial understanding of the institution’s heritage for visitors that is more detailed than brochure materials.

The unique architectural and interior details were assembled into a structural framework for the timeline, renovation team credits, and material source references. The museum’s tradition of illusionistic┬átrompe l’oeil mural painting was adopted to create a false sense of depth in the “window frame,” curtain treatments, and graphic layering of information.
